POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:
- Prior to participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
FORMAT:
- All players will participate in an 18-hole, two-person scramble stroke-play round.
- Maximum Score: During the play of this competition, a player is allowed a maximum gross score under the following format:
- Par 3: 6 Strokes
- Par 4: 8 Strokes
- Par 5: 9 Strokes
- Please refer to Rule 21.2 for more information. Maximum Score Formats will be in effect at SCGA One-Day Series tournaments, but will not be in effect at other SCGA Championships & Qualifiers.
- Players will play to their Handicap Index as of February 21.
- Player A (lower-handicapped player) will receive 35% of their Course Handicap. Player B (higher-handicapped player) will receive 15% of their Course Handicap. Each player’s Course Handicap will be rounded to a whole number. Team Handicaps are based on the combined Course Handicaps of the partners and will be deducted from the team’s gross score after the round.
- Worldwide Golf Shops gift cards will be distributed in-person to the top-five net sides and the overall low gross side following the round or at a future event.
- 1st Place / Low Gross: $100
- 2nd Place: $80
- 3rd Place: $60
- 4th Place: $40
- 5th Place: $20
- All ties will be broken using the USGA-suggested method of matching scorecards (Committee Procedures: Section 5A (6)).
REGISTRATION:
Players must check-in at the SCGA tent near the golf shop to obtain their scorecard and notice to players. Registration will begin by 8:30 a.m.
STARTING TIMES & PAIRINGS:
- Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org one week in advance of the tournament.
- Starting time is a 10:30 a.m. shotgun.
- Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.
TEES & YARDAGE:
- ALL MEN will play from the WHITE tee markers. Course Rating: 70.3 / Slope: 130 / Approx. 5,931 yards / Par 72.
- ALL WOMEN will play from the GOLD tee markers. Course Rating: 72.4 / Slope: 130 / Approx. 5,230 yards / Par 72.
PRACTICE ROUNDS:
- Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense. To book a practice round, visit https://www.sandcanyoncc.com/ or call the golf shop at (661) 252-8484. Practice Round availability is at the least intrusive times, on a space-available basis.
- Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
- We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.
DRIVING RANGE:
- The driving range will be available by 9:00 a.m.
- Range balls will be provided on the driving range, compliments of Sand Canyon CC and the SCGA.
FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:
- The restaurant will be open from 7:00 a.m. until the end of the day.
- Cash and major credit cards will be accepted for all purchases.
RULES OF PLAY:
- The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play.

GOLF CARTS & PULL/PUSH CARTS:
- Golf carts are included as part of the entry fee; however, players who are able and willing to walk may do so.
- There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
- Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
- Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
- Pull or push carts are permitted.
CADDIES & SPECTATORS:
- Players may provide their own caddie (see section on Golf Carts).
- Spectators are permitted but must walk unless ADA approved by SCGA Staff. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.
DRESS CODE:
- Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any club-specific policies.
CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:
- To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
- Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
- Refund Policy:
- Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
- Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
- Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
SCGA ONE-DAY SERIES POINTS PROGRAM:
Participants will receive points for participating in each One-Day Series Tournament, with top finishers earning additional points based on their net finish. For more information on the SCGA One-Day Series Points Program and the One-Day Series Player of the Year award click here.
The top finishers will receive the following point denominations in addition to the participation bonus.
1st – 100 points 6th – 25 points
2nd – 65 points 7th – 20 points
3rd – 50 points 8th – 15 points
4th – 35 points 9th – 10 points
5th – 30 points 10th – 5 points
Participation Bonus – 10 points
In the event of a tie for any place on the One-Day Series Points List, the tie shall be broken based on:
- Number of 2024 One-Day Series tournaments participated in
- Best finish in a 2024 One-Day Series tournament
NEW IN 2024: Top-5 Finishers of the SCGA One-Day Series Points List at the conclusion of the regular season prior to the championship will receive a bonus toward the SCGA One-Day Series Player of the Year Race:
1st – 100 points
2nd – 80 points
3rd – 70 points
4th – 60 points
5th – 50 point
