SCGA ONE-DAY SERIES REGISTRATION INFORMATION

 

The SCGA One-Day Series is an affordable, one-day tournament experience for members of all skill levels to compete at premier courses throughout Southern California, often on weekends. Tournaments are flighted based on format, field size, and playing ability. Participants earn year-long points based on their net finish in each tournament in a race to compete at the SCGA One-Day Series Championship and for the ultimate crown of the SCGA One-Day Series Player of the Year award.  First time playing in an SCGA Event?  Create your user profile by clicking here. FORMAT:

  • 10:30 a.m. shotgun start. 
    18 holes; two-person net scramble.
  • Two-player teams will represent each side.
  • After each shot, the better of the two players’ shots is selected and both players will play from that spot until the ball is holed. Each player is required to use six (6) drives. One team score is recorded for each hole.
  • Player A (lower-handicapped player) will receive 35% of their Course Handicap. Player B (higher-handicapped player) will receive 15% of their Course Handicap. Each player’s Course Handicap will be rounded to a whole number. Team Handicaps are based on the combined Course Handicaps of the partners and will be deducted from the team’s gross score after the round.
  • The SCGA Championship & Golf Operations Committee reserves the right to adjust a player’s Course Handicap at any time prior to or during the competition.
  • The top five net teams and the overall low gross team will receive awards.

 

ELIGIBILITY: This tournament is open to amateurs with an established Handicap Index who are active members of a SCGA member club that is currently certified under World Handicap System requirements. 

 

INFORMATION & PAIRINGS: Complete tournament details, including information about practice rounds, pairings, starting times, and yardages played will be emailed and posted on scga.org after entries close.

 

ENTRY FEE: Includes golf, shared cart (unless otherwise noted), range balls, and awards.

 

LATE ENTRIES: The SCGA accepts late entries, assuming space is still available at the given event. Late entries will be subject to an additional $20 fee and can only be processed over the phone or through email.

 

REFUND POLICY: Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.

 

GIFT CARD PRIZES:  Top finishers within each flight will receive Worldwide Golf Shops gift cards.  Physical cards will be distributed at the conclusion of each One-Day Series event.

 

ONE-DAY SERIES POINTS PROGRAM: One-Day Series participants will receive points for participating in each One-Day Series tournament, with the top finishers earning additional points based on their net finish. Points will be distributed as follows, in addition to the 10-point participation bonus.

 

  • 1st – 100 points
  • 2nd – 65 points
  • 3rd – 50 points
  • 4th – 35 points
  • 5th – 30 points
  • 6th – 25 points
  • 7th – 20 points
  • 8th – 15 points
  • 9th – 10 points
  • 10th – 5 points
  • Participation Bonus – 10 points

 

ONE-DAY SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP: At the conclusion of the One-Day Series, top players on the One-Day Series Points List will qualify for the One-Day Series Championship. The champion will receive a $500 Worldwide Golf Shops gift card and a crystal trophy. The runner-up will receive a $250 Worldwide Golf Shops gift card and a pewter plate.

 

ONE-DAY SERIES PLAYER OF THE YEAR: The One-Day Series Player of the Year award will be presented to the participant with the highest point total after the One-Day Series Championship. The Player of the Year will also receive a $750 Worldwide Golf Shops gift card and a commemorative framed flag.
